The Project Overview:
We transformed an outdated, cramped laundry closet in South Surrey into a modern, high-efficiency laundry station. The original setup had exposed piping, a basic wire shelf, and aging top-load appliances that were prone to heavy vibration. Our goal was to modernize the mechanical connections to support new front-load steam appliances and create a cleaner, more organized aesthetic.
The Solution:
A high-end laundry upgrade requires more than just new machines; it requires a reconfiguration of the “behind-the-scenes” plumbing.
Front-Load Optimization: We relocated the water supply lines and the drain standpipe to sit perfectly behind the new pedestals, allowing the machines to sit flush against the wall.
Steam Line Integration: We installed a dedicated “Y-connector” and new stainless steel braided supply lines to provide the water source for the dryer’s steam-sanitize feature.
Flood Prevention: Replaced the old rubber hoses with auto-shutoff safety valves to prevent catastrophic leaks, which are a common risk in second-floor laundry closets.
Vibration Reduction: We ensured the floor was perfectly reinforced and the drain lines were insulated to reduce the noise of high-speed spin cycles in a confined space.
