The Project Overview:
We were contacted by a homeowner in Murrayville, Langley, whose insurance provider had threatened to cancel their coverage unless the aging Poly-B (polybutylene) piping was removed. The home had already suffered one minor leak behind a bathroom wall, and the owners wanted a permanent solution to prevent a catastrophic flood.
The Solution:
A whole-home repipe is a major project, but we specialize in making the process as smooth and non-disruptive as possible. We performed a full “surgical” replacement of the grey Poly-B lines.
Our process included:
Modern Material Upgrade: We replaced all existing lines with high-grade Uponor PEX-a piping. This material is flexible, extremely durable, and resistant to the chlorine and temperature fluctuations that cause Poly-B to fail.
Strategic Access: We minimized the number of drywall cuts by using professional routing techniques, saving the homeowner significant money on restoration costs.
Manifold System Installation: We installed a centralized water manifold, allowing for better pressure balance throughout the home and providing individual shut-offs for every fixture.
Point-of-Use Upgrades: While the walls were open, we replaced all old plastic shut-off valves with high-quality brass quarter-turn ball valves and new stainless steel braided supply lines.
