Modern Shower Installation & Restoration

Complete Shower Deconstruction & Professional Re-Install

  • The Challenge: Outdated Infrastructure & Custom Fit

The original shower unit had reached the end of its lifespan, requiring a complete teardown of the existing walls and base. The primary challenge was the unique ceiling height of this Vancouver residence, which demanded a custom-engineered approach rather than a “one-size-fits-all” installation.

    The Seastack Solution

Phase 1: Deconstruction & Structural Preparation

    • Total Teardown: We removed the original shower unit and wall panels to expose the underlying plumbing and structural framework.

    • Subfloor Restoration: Stripped the area down to the subfloor to ensure a perfectly clean and level surface for the new structural foundation.

    • Precision Rough-In: Installed a new shower rough-in, meticulously aligning drainage and supply lines to match the new 38×38 footprint.

Phase 2: Foundation & Precision Logistics

    • Dry-Pack Mortar Bed: To eliminate the “flexing” common in standard installs, we used a professional Quikrete Sand/Topping Mix to create a rock-solid, leveled foundation for the new base.

    • Specialized Sourcing: To solve for the site’s unique ceiling height, we conducted 8 separate trips to specialized distributors to source height-specific hardware and custom components.

Phase 3: Final Installation & Aesthetic Finish

    • Seamless Integration: Set the new 38×38 unit and premium wall panels using high-strength bonding agents to guarantee a 100% waterproof seal.

    • Ceiling Restoration: To provide a flawless aesthetic, we performed a 2×2 ft restoration of the ceiling, including professional patching, sanding, and premium painting to fix installation marks.

The Result:

The project was completed on May 2, 2026, delivering a modern, leak-proof shower with a rock-solid foundation that will not creak or flex over time. By restoring the ceiling and sourcing custom hardware, we provided a “like-new” finish that seamlessly integrated with the rest of the bathroom.
