Call Before You Dig: BC 1 Click & Utility Locates

## Why Utility Locates are Mandatory in BC

Before an excavator bucket touches the ground on any Lower Mainland job site, safety is the first priority. Striking a gas line, hydro cable, or fiber optic trunk isn’t just a costly mistake—it is a massive safety risk for the entire neighborhood. At Seastack Mechanical, we handle the BC 1 Call process and private utility locates to ensure every dig is a safe one.

## Our Safe Digging Process

Whether we are installing a new perimeter drain in Abbotsford or trenching for a workshop in Surrey, our process never changes:

  • BC 1 Call Submission: We notify the province to have major public utilities marked.
  • Private Locates: BC 1 Call doesn’t mark everything (like secondary lines to a garage). We use specialized equipment to find “hidden” lines.
  • Hand Digging Zones: We carefully hand-expose lines within 1 meter of the markings to prevent damage.

## Professional Excavation Across the Lower Mainland

Responsible digging protects your property and your wallet. If a line is hit without a locate, the homeowner or contractor is liable for the massive repair costs. Seastack Mechanical provides peace of mind from Vancouver to Hope. We ensure that your project starts on solid, safe ground.
